Lesson Availability: Lessons are held Monday - Thursday and the student must attend 4 lessons (one per day) each week. Appointment times are booked in 10 minute increments. We have lessons available from 7:30 AM - 7:30 PM and all classes are one-on-one private lessons.
Survival Float ages 6 months - 12 months: I typically start teaching children when they begin crawling (generally 6-8 months of age). For this age group, I will teach survival floating - that is, rotating from a face down position in the water to a survival float. It takes about 3-4 weeks to accomplish this skill.
Swim-Float- Swim 12 months - 6 years: For children who are walking, or very close to walking (generally around 12 months of age), I teach the swim-float-swim sequence – that is, swimming in a face down position, using their arms and legs (similar to a freestyle stroke); rolling onto their back to the same survival float; and then flipping back over to continue swimming. The older the child, the more like a freestyle swim with more stroking and less floating. This skill set will take about 3-6 weeks to accomplish. The number of weeks often depends on the child's age and abilities since my lessons are child-paced. Your child to be competent in each skill presented.
Cost: Students attend 10-minute lessons every Monday-Thursday (four lessons per week). Please refer to the above description to estimate how many weeks your child will be in lessons. The weekly lesson fee is $109.00 and the first weeks lesson fee is due at booking and is non-refundable. Concurrently enrolled siblings, police, fire and military discounts lessons to $99/week.
Every lesson, for every child, is individualized one-on-one instruction. We do not have "group" lessons, because we believe your child should have my undivided attention. We will customize their lessons to ensure the safest, most efficient lessons. We want each child to experience success and use positive reinforcement to recognize each accomplishment, no matter how small. The parent, or caregiver, watches every lesson poolside.
